3 Pitfalls to Avoid when Making your Daily Coffee

These tips will keep your daily caffeine intake from sabotaging your health.


I LOVE coffee. As soon as I wake up, I start brewing some and sip it by the fireplace with a good book.


Coffee is a miracle drink with a range of health benefits that make it even MORE appealing. That being said, there is such a thing as too much coffee. These 3 pitfalls are a reminder to moderate your coffee consumption to gain the most health benefits.


1. Make sure not to add too much sugar!

Sugar will reduce the health benefits of a cup o' joe and can destroy your health. Having a heavy hand on the sugar leads to heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and diabetes. Limiting sugar intake to a total of 25 grams a day will shed fat and boost your energy level throughout the day. Try substituting sugar with an alternative sweetener and reducing your intake overtime to cut it out as much as possible. Sweeteners like honey, agave, monk fruit, and coconut sugar are a few more healthy coffee sweeteners.


2. Limit yourself to 2-5 cups per day.

Coffee is incredible and delicious, but don't overdo it. The positive health trends start to reverse themselves if you drink too much. Everything in moderation!


3. Don’t drink it every single day.

Taking a day or two off every month will keep your dependency from getting out of control. The energizing effects of coffee will wear off if your body gets used to having it every day.


As long as you keep this in mind, drink up!


Coffee is a wonder-beverage that we are lucky to enjoy.
